  • New dino discovery paper co-authored by LCCC instructor

Sixty-eight million years ago, the vast expanses of what we now know as Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana were teeming with life in a lush, warm environment. This ancient setting, characterized by sprawling floodplains, meandering streams and dense forests of angiosperms and towering trees, played host to an incredible diversity of late Cretaceous dinosaurs. Among them roamed the Triceratops and the formidable Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as the newly discovered, parrot-like Eoneophron infernalis. This part of the American West, skirted by the Western Interior Seaway, offered a rich mosaic of terrestrial and coastal ecosystems where dinosaurs thrived.
