Men's Basketball

The LCCC Golden Eagles men’s basketball is eager about this upcoming season. The Golden Eagles have an all-time record of 485-465. The Golden Eagles basketball program started in 1972 and ran until 1992. The basketball program was brought back in the fall of 2002. The Golden Eagles have one NJCAA National Tournament appearance dating back to the 1986-1987 season.

Head Coach Jason Ficca enters his eighth year with the Golden Eagles. Ficca has record at LCCC of 112-105. Under his direction, the Golden Eagles claimed back-to-back South Sub-Region titles in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. He was named the South Sub-Region Coach of the Year following the 2009-2010 season.

This past year, the team finished with an overall record of 18-13 and were 9-7 in the South Sub-Region. Golden Eagles finished third in the South Sub-Region during the regular season. The team will look for returners Darien Fernandez, Kamari Robinson and Spencer Svejcar to step up this season with the loss of five sophomores, one of those being the Golden Eagles all-time leading scorer in Deshon Portley.
