Shaun Skavang, MS, ATC, LAT

Interim Head Athletic Trainer

Shaun Skavang started as the interim head athletic trainer for Laramie County Community College in September 2014. He comes to LCCC from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he served as an intern assistant athletic trainer working with men's soccer and men's and women's track and field, and assisting with the football team on a daily basis.

Prior to South Dakota School of Mines, Skavang worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the football program at the University of Wyoming, and provided athletic training services for the Wyoming Cavalry of the Indoor Football League during the 2013 season. He also has previous experience in the National Football League, serving as an intern athletic trainer with the Minnesota Vikings during their 2010 training camp/pre-season.

Vincent “Skip” Ross, MD

Dr. Ross, owner of SMART Sports Medicine Center, has been the LCCC athletics department physician since 2007. Dr. Ross was raised in Cheyenne and graduated from East High School. He moved on to play football while earning his undergraduate degree from Hastings (NE) College. He then graduated from medical school at Creighton University and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program. He has owned and operated SMART Sports since 1986, specializing in primary care, non-operative orthopedic sports medicine. In addition, Dr. Ross also practices with Orthopedic Center of the Rockies (Fort Collins, Colo.) where he holds clinics two times a week. He is active with the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team, serving as a physician for Cheyenne Frontier Days, as well as other rodeo events.
