Vincent “Skip” Ross, MD

Dr. Ross, owner of SMART Sports Medicine Center, has been the LCCC athletics department physician since 2007. Dr. Ross was raised in Cheyenne and graduated from East High School. He played football while earning his undergraduate degree from Hastings (NE) College. He then graduated from medical school at Creighton University and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program. He has owned and operated SMART Sports since 1986, specializing in primary care, non-operative orthopedic sports medicine. In addition, Dr. Ross also practices with Orthopedic Center of the Rockies (Fort Collins, Colo.) where he holds clinics twice a week. He is active with the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team, serving as a physician for Cheyenne Frontier Days, as well as other rodeo events.

Megan Shifflett

  • Athletic Trainer
Shifflet begins her first year as head athletic trainer for the Golden Eagles. She returns to Wyoming after spending six years as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Idaho, working with women's volleyball, soccer, basketball and football. Shifflet graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health promotion and athletic training from the University of Wyoming. She then got her master's in recreation and sports management from the University of Idaho. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and a licensed athletic trainer in Wyoming.
Megan was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. She competed for the rodeo team at Sheridan College before pursuing her career in athletic training. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports and spending time outdoors.
