The LCCC Golden Eagles women’s volleyball program is excited about the upcoming season. The Golden Eagles have an all-time record of 136-152. Head Coach Austin Albers enters his first-year with the Golden Eagles after taking over the program in January 2014. Albers comes to LCCC from Sheridan College where he served as an assistant volleyball coach for two seasons, as well as one season as the interim men’s soccer head coach.
In 2013 the LCCC women finished with an overall record of 14-20 and finished fourth in the Region IX North Conference Tournament. The team saw great improvement on the court and in the classroom over the course of the spring and finished with a 3.24 team GPA. After graduating three sophomores and moving on two players to NCAA programs, the Golden Eagles will rely on two returning veterans and a talented group of 13 incoming freshman this season.
With a focus on recruiting the best regional talent, Coach Albers and Assistant Coach Britney Brown have solidified a regional roster with seven players from Colorado, five players from Wyoming, and one player each from Nebraska, Utah and Hawaii.
