Job Duties:

Dr. Du has been a full-time chemistry instructor at Laramie County Community College since 2007. She teaches Intro to Chemistry and General Chemistry I & II courses in various course delivery methods: face-to-face, hybrid and online.

About:

Dr. Qing Du received her B.S. in chemistry from Ocean University of China, an M.S. and a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Academia Sinica, Beijing), and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden). Her Ph.D. dissertation is entitled “Surface complexation in natural particle suspensions,” and she has coauthored several articles on the topic of particulate adsorption of heavy metals in aquatic systems.

Before coming to LCCC, she completed a postdoctoral research project at Boise State University and taught chemistry and mathematics for four years at Wyoming’s Gillette College. She is married and has two children. She has traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe and Asia with various family members over the past two and a half decades. In her spare time, she likes to hike, read and spend quality time with her husband and children.
