Students from Laramie County Community College’s vocal music department will travel to Norfolk, Virginia, to perform at St. Andrews Episcopal Church May 16-19.
This tour represents the culmination of a partnership among the music department, the LCCC Foundation and Bank of the West Music Series, the St. Mary’s Organ Concert Series, and organist/composer James W. Kosnik.
Kosnik appeared in a concert in Cheyenne last fall with the LCCC Collegiate Chorale premiering an original work commissioned for this event. The concert also included works for organ and the LCCC Brass Ensemble.
The group will reprise Kosnik’s setting of Psalm 127 in a concert at his home church. The choir will perform at the Sunday morning service and then give a full concert later that afternoon. That concert will feature a variety of choral works.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit Norfolk Virginia and perform in such a lovely and historic setting as St. Andrews Episcopal Church,” said Dr. Judy Ransom, who serves as the director of the choir.
