LCCC to host distance education consortium conference

LCCC was recently named the new location for the 13th Annual Wyoming Distance Education Consortium (WyDEC) Spring Conference on May 19-20.

This event will bring educators from across the state for two days of professional-development sessions, keynote presentations, a vendor expo, the Distance Education Award Banquet, and more.

The WyDEC Conference has a tradition of sharing innovative ideas and practices for enhancing teaching and learning at a distance and using emerging technologies that support traditional campus-based courses.

With the theme of "Let's Go Mobile," several presentations will focus on the challenges and opportunities that mobile technology and social media present for distance education in Wyoming and beyond.

Open to college educators in Wyoming, this free conference simply requires registration. Nonmembers may also attend for a fee of $50. To register, visit the WyDEC webpage. Proposals for conference presentations will be accepted online as well through April 30, 2014.

Keynote speakers for this years conference include eLearning professional Barry Dahl, who is the senior community manager at Desire2Learn, and motivational speaker Jim Davidson.
