Men's rodeo team first in Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo

Men's team finishes fall season 5th; women finish 7th.

The Laramie County Community College rodeo team performed well at the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo held Oct. 15-17. The men’s team won the overall with 550 team points. The LCCC men finish the fall season in fifth place, and the women finish in seventh place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region.
  • LCCC barrel racers Jesse Pichler and Philicia Hupp had top-10 finishes. Pichler ended up in 10th place, and Hupp tied in fourth place.
  • Ty Taypotat won the first round in the bareback riding with an 80-point ride and ended up in fifth place.
  • The duo of Canler Sterkel and Dillon Evenson placed third in the long round in team roping with a time of 6.7 seconds and won the short round with a time of 6.5 seconds. Their combined time of 13.2 seconds made them the team roping champions for the rodeo.
  • LCCC bull rider Loncey Johnson continued his winning ways scoring 79 points in the long round and 76 points in the short round. Loncey’s combined score of 155 gave him the bull riding title at this year’s Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo. Johnson is currently sitting first in the nation in bull riding with 480 points.
