will bring the concert “She Said/He Said” to Cheyenne, with song selections covering a variety of musical styles, ranging from Mendelssohn to Joni Mitchell to Gotye.
This is their only scheduled appearance in the Rocky Mountain area during 2013-14. In this season, the group’s 36th, they will perform in 23 states and several foreign countries.
Based in San Francisco, Chanticleer is known as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of its 12 male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature — from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to venturesome new music. Chanticleer was named Ensemble of the Year by Musical America in 2008.
The event is presented with the support of the ANB Bank Performing Arts Series, the Bank of the West Music Series and the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
Named for the clear-singing rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales,” Chanticleer was founded in 1978 by tenor Louis Botto.
