Rodeo team starts spring season in Gillette

The women's team is 9th and men's is 11th in overall region standings.

The Laramie County Community College women’s rodeo team took ninth place with 15 points in the Gillette College Rodeo in Gillette, Wyo., March 15-17. The men’s team finished in 10th place with 125 points.

Top Performers

  • Hayli Bonham placed eighth in team roping heeler with a combined time of 8.5.
  • Shana Lyons placed eighth in breakaway roping with a combined time of 3.9.
  • Dillon Simonson tied for third in steer wrestling with a combined time of 8.9.
  • Dillon Simonson placed sixth in tie down roping with a combined time of 26.0.
  • Dillon Simonson tied for fifth in the men’s all-around with 125 points.
The overall region standings have the women’s team in ninth place with 315 points, and the men’s team climbed up one spot to 11th place with 390 points.

The LCCC rodeo team will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., March 29-31 for the Colorado State University Rodeo. Rodeo results can be found at
