Women's soccer team loses in shootout at nationals

Golden Eagles move into bracket for fifth place.

The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team lost in a tight game against Schoolcraft College in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament in Topeka, Kan., Thursday.
After time ran out in regulation and in two overtimes, the score remained tied at 1-1. The Golden Eagles lost in the shootout that followed, 7-6.
The women aren’t coming home yet, though. The gals will face Anne Arundel Community College out of Maryland at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Golden Eagles are in the alternate bracket that is competing for fifth place.
