The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team
tied 14th-ranked Iowa Western Community College 1-1 at home on Oct. 1.
Iowa Western scored an early goal in the 3rd minute of play with a chip over the Golden Eagles goalie. After the first goal, LCCC took control of the game. The Golden Eagles took seven shots in the first half compared to IWCC’s three. In the 43rd minute Emi Yamamoto converted a penalty kick to tie the game. The score would remain tied 1-1 through two overtimes. Box Score

The Golden Eagles hosted the North Idaho College Cardinals on Oct. 3. LCCC took the game over in the second half and won 3-1. The Cardinals scored the lone goal of the first half in the 28th minute. The Golden Eagles came out in the second half and took control of the game. LCCC’s Shino Kunisawa scored the tying goal in the 53rd minute, assisted by Emi Yamamoto. Kunisawa scored again in the 66th minute, assisted by Monica Lubin. LCCC’s Amanda Halter scored the insurance goal in the 85th minute of play, assisted by Lubin. Box Score

The women’s soccer team (10-3-1 overall, 5-0 Region IX) will host second-ranked Lewis and Clark Community College (14-0 overall) at noon on Oct. 8 and sixth-ranked Monroe Community College (11-0-1 overall) at noon on Oct. 10. All Golden Eagle athletic home events are free.
