Rodeo team makes final push

Men take 5th at Casper, Women place 7th.
The Laramie County Community College rodeo team competed in Casper this past weekend.

The women’s team finished in seventh place with 90 team points.
· Jesse Pichler placed fifth in barrel racing with a combined time of 31.15.
· Katelyn Ellis placed eighth in goat tying.

The men’s team finished in fifth place with 240 team points.
· Loncey Johnson placed seventh in saddle bronc riding. Johnson’s overall totals of 64 points in saddle bronc riding and his fourth-place finish in bull riding with an overall total of 56 points in bull riding have him sitting in first place in the region’s all-around standings and third place in the national standings.
· The duo of Canler Sterkel and Dillon Evenson finished the weekend in sixth place in team roping.
· Evenson also placed fifth in steer wrestling.

Heading into the last week of rodeo events, the Golden Eagle women are in sixth place in the region with 957.50 points. The LCCC men are in sixth place in the region with 2,525 points.

The LCCC rodeo team will compete in its last rodeo of the season April 29-May 1 in Laramie at the University of Wyoming Rodeo. Rodeo results can be found at www.collegerodeo.com.
