The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles had four players score in double figures and held the Lancers of Eastern Wyoming College to 35.5 percent from the field to register a 97-67 victory on the road in Torrington on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Freshman Kamari Robinson led the Golden Eagles with a career-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Robinson was 9-11 from the field and 8-10 from the free-throw line.
The win for the Golden Eagles ends a three-game losing streak and improves their record to 15-9 on the year and 6-5 in the south sub-region.
What sparked the Golden Eagles was a strong first half as they jumped out to a 22 point lead at the half. The Golden Eagles shot close to 60 percent from the field and the three-point line in the first half. Overall, the Golden Eagles were 33-57 from the field for 57.9 percent and were 11-19 from the three-point line for 57.9 percent. A strong 20-25 performance from the free-throw line propelled the Golden Eagles to a 30-point victory.
