LCCC appoints new Math & Sciences dean

Following a thorough search that fielded candidates from across the country, Laramie County Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Arun Goyal will take the reins as the new dean of the School of Math & Sciences.

Dr. Goyal earned his Ph.D. in Biology from the Wollongong University in Australia, and a master’s degree from the GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology in India. Currently, he is the vice president of Indo-US Foundation for Research, Education, Energy & Environment, where he is developing joint ventures and programs in biotechnology/nanotechnology, green energy and veterinary sciences.

He previously served as dean of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics at Minnesota State College and University System, head of the Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences at Texas A&M University, and as faculty at Michigan State University, University of Minnesota-Duluth, and East Tennessee State University.

In addition to extensive research in green energy, Dr. Goyal edited and published a review book as well as 55 journal articles, presented research at approximately 100 conferences, and has been invited to speak at myriad colloquiums and seminars in the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Goyal has authored or coauthored four invention disclosures and served on editorial boards of four international journals. He served as an advisor/ consultant to several international companies and organizations.

The School of Math & Sciences oversees mathematics, natural and physical sciences, as well as such programs as criminal justice, counseling and human services.
