April Fools' joke: College announces new mascot
he Golden Eagles of Laramie County Community College are gone with the wind. The college
today announced a new mascot and logo that will take over as the symbol of LCCC: the
Wind.
"The Golden Eagle really wasn't representative of Laramie County. We wanted to have a symbol that people could relate to, a symbol that reflected the area we live in," said Joe Schaffer, LCCC President.
College officials first started discussing a new icon years ago, but the debate recently got a second wind. News of the logo was kept quiet because officials didn't want the discussion to get blown out of proportion. The college is anticipating a gust of feedback from the community.
