Natural Science Program

female student in chemistry class

What will I learn?

Are you curious about our natural world? The science programs include a variety of studies that center around life and the environments where life exists. Students will learn how the various fields of science ask questions, conduct experiments and draw conclusions. They will learn the basic vocabulary and core theories, and they put these into practice across biology, chemistry and physics.

Students may have the opportunity to participate in research (lab or field) and present their work in various venues.

The science programs provide a foundation for students to complete their bachelor's degree and beyond.

Students who are interested in studying science at LCCC can choose from three options:

Associate of Science

This program is the most general and lends itself to many options in the life sciences. Students interested in the sciences should consult with their advisor.

Available at the Cheyenne main campus.

What can I do with this degree?

Graduates of this program will need to continue their education at a four-year institution.

After earning a bachelor's or higher, graduates may find jobs as:

Associate of Science

The Biomedical Sciences program is specifically designed for students who are interested in applying to a professional program, such as pre-pharmacy, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, pre-medical, etc. The program is designed to meet the pre-requisites of many nearby schools’ programs while still allowing for flexibility in areas where schools may have different requirements. Students completing this track may also transfer to a 4-year institution to complete a degree in a related field, such as physiology. Students interested in the sciences should consult with their advisor.

Available at the Cheyenne main campus.

Associate of Science

The Physical Sciences program introduces students to a focus on the properties and behavior of matter. Students will think on a microscopic level about the structure of atoms and molecules, and how those relate to macroscopic observations. Physical Science courses at LCCC include extensive hands-on experience with common lab procedures. Students interested in the sciences should consult with their advisor.

Available at the Cheyenne main campus.
