LCCC seeks volunteers to help with Reality Town

CHEYENNE, WYO. — Laramie County Community College is looking for volunteers to help with Reality Town, an event for approximately 600 high school students on Thursday, April 11.

Reality Town is an educational program that gives realistic financial experiences to these students. Students are assigned a job and get a chance to see if they can support a family on that salary. As part of the preparation for the simulation, students learn about student and business loans and tax withholding as they examine their personalized pay stub and explore career opportunities.

If you or someone you know would be willing to work with these students, please contact Adam Keizer at 307.778.1325 or akeizerFREELARAMIE. Volunteers will be needed that day from 8:15 to 10:50 a.m.

"We're so proud of this program, but it can't happen without community help," said Maryellen Tast, dean for the LCCC School of Outreach & Workforce Development.
