Acclaimed contemporary vocal ensemble säje to perform at LCCC

photo of the Saje vocal ensembleCHEYENNE, Wyoming – Grammy-winning vocal supergroup säje is coming to Laramie County Community College with a bold, harmony-driven contemporary jazz style.

The performance is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium on LCCC’s Cheyenne campus, presented by the ANB Bank Performing Arts Series.

Known for its seamless blend and collaborative approach to vocal writing, säje (rhymes with “beige”) features four acclaimed vocalists — Sara Gazarek, Amanda Taylor, Johnaye Kendrick and Erin Bentlage — who approach the voice as a fully integrated ensemble.

The quartet’s sound moves fluidly between original compositions and reimagined jazz standards, with arrangements shaped collectively by all four members and an emphasis on tightly woven harmony, rhythmic precision and attentive listening. Audiences can expect a performance that balances technical sophistication with immediacy, offering music that feels both carefully crafted and alive in the moment.

The group won GRAMMY Awards in 2024 and 2025 for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.

Audiences in southeast Wyoming have a unique opportunity to see an internationally recognized vocal ensemble presented in one of the region’s premier concert venues, said Michael Lange, LCCC’s Fine and Performing Arts director.

“Local lovers of the arts will not want to miss this chance to see performers who are typically only available in larger markets,” Lange said. “One of the goals of the performing arts series is to close the gap between major cultural centers and our region, and this performance does exactly that.”

The concert is part of LCCC’s Cultural and Community Enrichment Series, which brings nationally and internationally recognized artists to campus through donor-supported endowments managed by the LCCC Foundation. The series reflects the college’s commitment to providing meaningful cultural experiences for students and the broader community.

Tickets for the performance are free for students of any age and $20 for general admission. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at lccc.wy.edu/culturalSeries.
