LCCC Reports Record Enrollment Growth, Student Success, and Graduate Outcomes
CHEYENNE, Wyoming – Laramie County Community College continues to exceed state and national higher education trends, posting significant enrollment growth, record graduation numbers, strong student success rates, and impressive workforce outcomes.
Over the past seven years, LCCC has experienced enrollment growth of nearly 28%, increasing from 4,970 students in 2019-20 to 6,342 students in 2025-26.
"The story of LCCC over the last several years is one of momentum," said Dr. Joe Schaffer, president of LCCC. "While many colleges across the country are facing enrollment declines, more students are choosing LCCC because they see the value of an education that leads directly to opportunity, whether that means entering the workforce, transferring to a university, or advancing their careers."
The growth has been especially strong in several high-demand academic Pathways, including Information Technology, Health Sciences & Wellness, and Business & Accounting. These programs continue to align closely with workforce needs across Wyoming and the region.
The College celebrated its largest graduating class in history during the 2025-26 academic year, awarding 1,070 credentials to 858 graduates. Credential production has increased 31.9% over the past decade and 41.9% over the past three years. Additionally, student success metrics continue to demonstrate positive outcomes. LCCC's overall course success rate reached 83.7% in 2025-26, the highest level in recent years.
"These outcomes are a reflection of the extraordinary work of our faculty and staff, but more importantly, they represent the determination and success of our students," Schaffer said. "Our focus is not simply on enrollment growth. It is about helping students’ complete credentials, achieve their goals, and create meaningful value for themselves, their families, and our communities."
The College's workforce impact is also evident in graduate earnings data. Among graduates from LCCC's applied programs who remain employed in Wyoming, average earnings over the first five years after graduation are $65,820, exceeding Wyoming's expected livable wage by more than $22,500. Additionally, 62% of graduates from applied programs remain in Wyoming, helping fill critical workforce needs across the state.
Together, these outcomes reinforce LCCC's continued commitment to student success, workforce development, and creating opportunities that strengthen Wyoming's economy and communities.
