EMPOWER Skill Building Classes

EMPOWER is a supportive, skill-building class designed to help individuals with intellectual disabilities prepare for meaningful employment. The course focuses on building foundational workplace readiness skills through hands-on learning and guided practice. Participants explore a variety of career options based on their interests and strengths, while gaining a clear understanding of workplace expectations and professional behaviors.

Students develop essential communication skills, including how to interact with supervisors, coworkers, and customers in a professional setting. The class also provides practical instruction in job-seeking skills, such as creating resumes, completing job applications, and preparing for interviews. By combining career exploration with real-world employment skills, Career Boost empowers participants to increase confidence, independence, and readiness for the workforce.
