Cheyenne native named LCCC Foundation executive director

Riana DavidsonCHEYENNE, Wyoming – The LCCC Foundation, Laramie County Community College’s major fundraising partner, announced this week that Cheyenne native Riana Davidson has been named its new executive director.

Davidson brings more than 17 years of experience in public service and community-focused fundraising to the Foundation. In her new role, she will lead the Foundation’s fundraising work and strengthen donor support for LCCC students and programs.

“Education truly is life-changing, whether it’s a certificate, an associate degree or even a life enrichment class,” said Riana Davidson, LCCC Foundation executive director. “That transformative work is what inspired me to apply and why I’m excited to be here. LCCC has an impact on students and the community, and I want to help connect people to that mission in a meaningful way.”

Established in 1968, the LCCC Foundation exists to engage the community and support the college through the solicitation, management and recognition of donations. Separate from the college but closely connected to its mission, the Foundation works with LCCC to generate private gifts and manage funds already raised. In 2024, the Foundation allocated more than $1.8 million to support LCCC, with more than $1.1 million going to scholarships. During the 2025-26 academic year, 472 students received Foundation scholarship support.

The bulk of Davidson’s career was spent with the Wyoming Legislature’s Legislative Service Office, where she helped oversee the $300 million Wyoming Capitol renovation and the development of the visitor experience. Before her work with the Legislature, Davidson held marketing and communications roles with the Montana Office of Tourism and served as development and communications director for the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.

That combination of strategic vision, professional credibility, and collaborative leadership makes Davidson the right person to fulfill the Foundation’s mission and expand its impact on behalf of students, and the broader community, said Dershie Barber, the LCCC Foundation Board of Directors’ president.

“At this pivotal time, Riana offers the leadership, judgment and commitment necessary to strengthen the LCCC Foundation’s role in supporting student success, the college’s success and community partnership,” Barber said.

Davidson said her priority will be understanding the people who shape the Foundation’s future.

“I’m approaching this work with curiosity, openness and a desire to connect with people,” Davidson said. “I want to understand what inspires their giving, why they feel connected to the college and how we can align that passion with LCCC’s mission.”
