MAR
Wyoming OER Conference to bring educators to Cheyenne for statewide collaboration
College educators from across the state will gather at Laramie County Community College
this spring for the inaugural Wyoming Open Educational Resources Conference, a free
event focused on making education more affordable and accessible through open resources.
The 2026 Wyoming Open Educational Resources Conference is set for Apr. 23 in the Center for Conferences & Institutes on LCCC’s Cheyenne campus. Breakfast is offered at 7 a.m. for registered attendees, with programming from 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m. A Wyoming OER planning meeting will follow at 4:20 p.m.
Registration is free and remains open through March 30. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and an optional post-conference networking dinner will also be available. You can register at the Conference homepage on LibGuides.
Open Educational Resources are free, high-quality learning materials that can replace traditional textbooks, removing one of the most persistent financial barriers students face and helping align instruction with the college’s mission of access and affordability.
Designed to build community among OER users in Wyoming, the conference will highlight classroom applications of open educational resources, provide educators with a place to share ideas and projects and support those new to using openly licensed course materials.
Organizers hope educators can leave with clear ideas for implementing OER in their classrooms.
Sessions will feature faculty- and librarian-led presentations focused on real classroom use of OER, including practical discussion of what has worked, what has been challenging and how courses have evolved. The program will also include a keynote and lunch session from an OER practitioner and leader, along with opportunities for attendees to connect with colleagues and contribute to ongoing Wyoming OER efforts.
The conference will be held in the CCI Building on LCCC’s Cheyenne campus. Parking is free, and parking lot L is the closest to the meeting rooms. A block of rooms has also been reserved at the Marriott SpringHill Suites near campus for attendees traveling to Cheyenne. View a draft of the schedule.
