Residence Hall Employment Opportunities
Working in the residence halls is a great way to build leadership skills, gain valuable work experience, and make a positive impact on the residential community. Our student staff members play a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging living environment for all residents.
Each year, LCCC's residence halls offer a variety of student employment opportunities. Applications are accepted throughout the year based on hiring needs and position availability.
- Office Assistants are typically hired during the fall semester.
- Resident Assistants (RAs) and Summer Resident Assistants (SRAs) are typically selected during the spring semester for the upcoming academic year and summer term.
Student employees gain experience in customer service, communication, conflict resolution, leadership, event planning, and teamwork while working closely with Housing & Residence Life staff.

Resident Assistant (RA)
The Resident Assistant (RA) is one of the most visible and important student leadership positions within the residence halls. RAs are responsible for fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging residential community while serving as a resource for residents throughout the academic year.
As peer leaders, RAs help students successfully navigate college life by promoting community development, encouraging student involvement, and supporting residents' personal and academic success.
Responsibilities Include:
- Building community and promoting resident engagement.
- Planning and facilitating educational, social, and wellness-focused programs.
- Serving as a resource and mentor for residents.
- Assisting with conflict mediation and roommate concerns.
- Enforcing Housing & Residence Life policies and procedures.
- Responding to incidents and emergencies as needed.
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and departmental events.
- Supporting housing operations during move-in, move-out, and break periods.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good academic and disciplinary standing with the College.
- Commitment to creating a positive living and learning environment.

Summer Resident Assistant (SRA)
The Summer Resident Assistant (SRA) plays an essential role in supporting residential operations during the summer months. Summer housing often includes enrolled students, conference attendees, athletic camps, and special campus guests, making flexibility and customer service critical components of the position.
SRAs serve as ambassadors for the residence halls by helping ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all summer residents and visitors.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting with summer housing operations and occupancy management.
- Supporting conference and guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Providing excellent customer service to students and guests.
- Conducting facility inspections and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Assisting with room preparation and turnover between groups.
- Supporting administrative projects and special events.
- Responding to resident concerns and helping resolve issues.
- Maintaining a visible and positive presence throughout Eagle Village.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Good academic and conduct standing.
- Previous Housing employment experience preferred but not always required.
