Ranch Horse Team

The ranch horse team competes in stock horse, reined cow horse and ranch versatility events across the nation. These events are aimed toward advancing horsemanship skills in a setting that would be useful on a working ranch. All members will compete in working cow horse, reining, ranch trail and ranch riding classes on their personal horse. Horses used for the ranch horse team may be boarded at the college facility. Riders at novice, intermediate and advanced levels are all encouraged to apply for this team.

Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Equestrian Team

Students from any major on campus are eligible to compete on the Equestrian Team and attend shows across the nation as part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. 

Students can compete in horsemanship, ranch riding, reining, hunt seat equitation and equitation over fences. They may specialize in English or western events although most students at LCCC compete in both. Students will draw horses for each event, so experience riding different types and levels of horses is an advantage. 

Horses are provided and all experience levels are welcome to join.

Livestock Show Team

Applications are now open to apply for the 2024-25 Livestock Show Team. Apply for the 2024-25 Livestock Show Team*. 

The livestock show team is a group of competitive individuals with a passion for the livestock and showing industries. Members of the team are involved with every aspect of the show industry from halter breaking young calves to fitting and preparing for a show. Connections are made with local and nationally known producers, and skills are created that will last a lifetime. The show team has exhibited numerous winners at the NILE in Billings, Montana, and the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado.

Livestock Judging Team

Students on the livestock judging team compete at contests across the nation. The first portion of a livestock judging contest is animal evaluation and the second portion is oral reasons. Students hone their skills in evaluation and communication and become better stock men in the process.

Block & Bridle

Block and Bridle is a national recognized organization open to students who are interested in animal agriculture with the mission to enhance the education and social atmosphere within the Ag & Equine Pathway through community development, extracurricular activities, service and networking.

Archery

The Archery Club at LCCC is a new organization focused on both casual and competitive archery. Our archery club is registered through USA Archery and is open to students of any major. Students can participate casually or can compete in local events, and both recurve and compound styles are welcome.
