LCCC Accelerate Program

Your Path to a FREE Associates Degree

Starting in high school, you can earn up to 24 college credits. That's like completing an entire year of college before you even graduate high school. The credits you earn in high school combined with one-year at LCCC will provide you an opportunity to earn an associates degree for free.

What does this mean for you?

  • You could finish a workforce-ready degree at LCCC just one year after high school.
  • You could complete a bachelor's degree in three years at LCCC or a university.
  • You can save both time and money!

What you need to know:

  • Accelerate is a pilot program for students starting their sophomore year in the fall of 2025 at Cheyenne East, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South and Triumph
  • It is an opportunity to create equitable dual and concurrent enrollment opportunities with high school students
  • Students can earn up to 24 college credits in the program
  • Accelerate students will participate in career exploration and college preparedness
  • After completing high school, Accelerate participants will be eligible for a one-year tuition and fees scholarship to LCCC. By earning up to 24 free credits in high school and the one-year tuition and fees scholarship, students can complete their associates degree for free.

Who can participate?

  • Students entering their sophomore year of high school
  • 2.0 or greater high school GPA
  • Currently attending Cheyenne East, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South or Triumph High School
  • Priority will be given to first-generation & low income students

What you'll do:  

  • Attend 6 mandatory workshops to learn about career opportunities and college preparedness with your
    LCCC Accelerate Coach
  • Develop an individualized student success plan with your high school counselor and Accelerate Coach for your junior and senior year and into your freshman year of college
  • Take college courses at your high school (concurrent courses)
    or through LCCC – in person or online (dual courses)

How to apply for the program: 

  • Students must meet the above eligibility requirements  
  • Students interested in applying for LCCC Accelerate should talk with their high school counselor. A recommendation from the student's high school counselor is required for participation in the program.  

Apply for the LCCC Accelerate Program

  • Applications will be accepted from Aug. 13 – Oct. 3, 2025.
  • Students will be notified the week of Oct. 27 regarding their participation status.
